Auverne Rhone Alpes Region: REOPENING of the Little Train of La Mure

Le Petit Train de La Mure reprend ses circulations à partir du mercredi 6 août, après quelques semaines de travaux sur le matériel roulant.

Starting August 6, 2025, the famous Train de La Mure will resume service in the heart of Isère. This historic line, inaugurated in 1903, once again offers everyone the chance to cross spectacular Alpine landscapes, between viaducts, tunnels, and views of Lake Monteynard.

The 15-km route connects Saint-Georges-de-Commiers to the Grand Balcon, offering exceptional panoramic views aboard restored vintage cars. In addition to the journey, visitors can enjoy activities and exhibitions on mining and railway history. Accessible to all, the line is also committed to an environmentally friendly approach thanks to its electric traction.

The Train de La Mure is once again the symbol of the passion for rail and the dynamism of Matheysine, offering an unforgettable experience to share with family or friends.
